Do I need a prescription for physical therapy from my doctor?

No you do not need a presciption for physical therapy.  The state of Pennsylvania is a Direct Access state.  This means that you can receive physical therapy without a prescription from a physical therapist that holds a cerificate of authorization to practice physical therapy without a referral.  However, treatment cannot exceed 30 days from first visit without a prescription from a physician.

First appointment: What you should bring with you

Ideally, you should come wearing athletic and comfortable clothing.  You should remember to bring a prescription from your doctor for physical therapy treatments if given one and bring along insurance information/cards along with a photo ID.

Therapy sessions: Coordinated with your schedule

Appointments can be scheduled with the different therapists based on your individual needs.  Each of our offices schedules appointments from 8am - 630pm at least three days/week to accomodate most patient schedules.
